Getting to CityU

  • Transport - MTR By MTR - Kwun Tong Line

    If you are coming by MTR Kwun Tong Line, get off at Kowloon Tong station. Follow the signs to Festival Walk (Exit C), then take Exit C2, which leads to the Festival Walk shopping centre. Go up to Level LG1 and find the escalator next to Shop LG1-10, which will take you to one end of the CityU underpass. When you emerge from the underpass, CityU's main entrance is right in front of you.

  • Transport - MTR By MTR - East Rail Line

    If you are coming by MTR East Rail Line, get off at Kowloon Tong station. Follow the signs to the MTR Kwun Tong Line, and find the Festival Walk Exit (Exit C), then take Exit C2, which leads to the Festival Walk shopping centre. Go up to Level LG1 and find the escalator next to Shop LG1-10, which will take you to one end of the CityU underpass. When you emerge from the underpass, CityU's main entrance is right in front of you.

  • Transport - TAXI By Taxi

    Ask the taxi driver to take you to City University of Hong Kong, Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon Tong, Kowloon and drop you off at the University Circle. When you get out of the taxi, you are in front of the Academic Building and Cheng Yick-chi Building.

  • Transport - Bus By Bus

    There are two bus termini near City University. One is at Kowloon Tong MTR Station. The other is the Yau Yat Tsuen (Festival Walk) Bus Terminus.

    Buses those stop at the Kowloon Tong MTR Station Bus Terminus are

      • buses of KMB (Kowloon Motor Bus) with Route Number: 80M, 81M, 82M, 88M; and
      • bus of CityBus with Route Number: 62R

    They are all from bus termini of Shatin, including Sui Wo Court (80M), Sun Tin Wai (81M), Kwong Yuen (82M), Hin Keng (88M), and City One Shatin (62R). Please visit the website of the corresponding public transport company for the detailed bus stop locations.

    When you get off at Kowloon Tong MTR Station Bus Terminus, the easiest way to get to City University is through the MTR station. Just get into the MTR station and find Exit C2, which leads to the Festival Walk shopping centre. Go up to Level LG1 and find the escalator next to Shop LG1-10, which will take you to one end of the CityU underpass. When you emerge from the underpass, CityU's main entrance is right in front of you.

    Buses those stop at the Yau Yat Tsuen (Festival Walk) Bus Terminus are

      • buses of KMB (Kowloon Motor Bus) with Route Number: 2C, 203; and
      • bus of NWFB (New World First Bus) with Route Number: 796B
      • mini-buses with Route Number: 2/2A, 10M/10A, 41M/41A, 72, 73

    Both 2C and 203 are circulating between Yau Yat Tsuen and Tsim Sha Tsui, whereas 796B is from bus terminus of Tiu Keng Leng MTR Station. (Please visit the website of the corresponding public transport company for the detailed bus stop locations.) The mini-buses are from various locations including Whampoa Garden (2/2A), Nam Cheong West Rail Station (10M/10A), Shek Kei Mei MTR Station (41M/41A), Grand View Garden (72), and Tsz Wan Shan Centre (73).

    When you get off at Festival Walk, Go down to Level LG1 and find the escalator next to Shop LG1-10, which will take you to one end of the CityU underpass. When you emerge from the underpass, CityU's main entrance is right in front of you.

  • Transport - Car By Car

    If you are driving, it would be best to contact the department which has arranged for your visit to see if it can help with parking arrangements. Click here for general information on car park service. The followings are brief description on how to drive to City University through major routes:

    • Route 1, toward north (Aberdeen to Shatin):
      • Take Route 1 and travel north toward Shatin.
      • Exit Waterloo Road in Kowloon Tong at Exit no. 9F and turn left onto Cornwall Street.
      • At the third set of traffic lights turn left onto Tat Chee Avenue.
      • Turn left at the traffic light and take the first exit at the small roundabout to enter the campus.
    • Route 1, toward south (Shatin to Aberdeen):
      • Take Route 1 and travel south and pass the Lion Rock Tunnel.
      • Exit Waterloo Road at Exit no. 9G and turn right onto Cornwall Street.
      • At the third set of traffic lights turn left onto Tat Chee Avenue.
      • Turn left at the traffic light and take the first exit at the small roundabout to enter the campus.
    • Route 7, toward east (Kwai Chung to Tseung Kwan O):
      • Take Route 7 and travel east toward Sham Shui Po.
      • Exit Lung Cheung Road at Exit no. 13C onto Cornwall Street.
      • Keep on the right-most lane. Turn right onto Tat Chee Avenue when you see a road sign showing right to City University/Yau Yat Tsuen.
      • Take the left lane and turn left at the traffic light.
      • Take the first exit at the small roundabout to enter the campus.
    • Route 7, toward west (Tseung Kwan O to Kwai Chung):
      • Take Route 7 and travel west toward Kwai Chung.
      • Exit Lung Cheung Road at Exit no. 11A onto Chuk Yuen Road via Lung Yin Road.
      • At the end of Junction Road, which is a T-junction, turn right onto Waterloo Road, then left onto Cornwall Street.
      • At the third set of traffic lights turn left onto Tat Chee Avenue.
      • Turn left at the traffic light and take the first exit at the small roundabout to enter the campus.
  • Transport - Plane By Plane

    The easiest way to get to CityU from the Hong Kong International Airport is by taxi. The fare will be about HK$300. You can take the Airport Express and the MTR for less than HK$60 but you will have to change trains three times. Ask for instructions at the information counter on the arrivals level.
